PH Tool ASTM Distance Amplitude Set of 19 (7075-T6 Aluminum)
$5,869.00 – $6,639.00
Set of nineteen flat-bottom hole blocks used to determine the relationship between metal travel distance (MTD) and signal amplitude.
All blocks have the same size flat-bottom hole and varying MTD. Hole diameter must be specified when ordering (3/64”, 5/64” or 8/64”). In accordance with ASTM E127. Includes our NIST traceable certification report, ultrasonic inspection report and response plot, and the certified material test report.
–NEW OPTION–* to purchase “Guaranteed Set” meeting +2dB / -3 dB acceptance criteria.
In 2020, a new version of ASTM E127 (E127-19) was released that rolled in all requirements previously found under E428 and E1158. All materials are now encompassed under E127, and the new version of the spec also introduced the option to order sets meeting specific acceptance criteria. If you’d like to purchase a set that is guaranteed to meet the S2 Supplementary Requirements for Distance Amplitude, please be sure to indicate this by selecting the option above. By doing so, you will ensure that no block in your set deviates from the best-fit trend line by more than +2 dB / -3 dB. We will also add tolerance bars to the ultrasonic response plot for a visual representation of this acceptance criteria.
Dimensions: Metal travel distances are: 0.063”, 0.125”, 0.250”, 0.375”, 0.500”, 0.625”, 0.750”, 0.875”, 1.000”, 1.250”, 1.750”, 2.250”, 2.750”, 3.250”, 3.750”, 4.250”, 4.750”, 5.250” and 5.750”. Block diameter is 2.0″.
• Made from 7075-T6 Aluminum, black anodized.
• Hardwood or Durable Plastic Cases recommended…see above.
Note: Plastic Case is required for transport if ASTM Set is to be put on a regular recertification cycle with PH Tool.
*Sets of ASTM Blocks in aluminum alloys are available with various colors of anodic coating. Colors available include black, blue, green, red, gold, orange, gray and clear. Colors other than the typical black coating come at additional cost. Blocks are anodized in accordance with MIL-A-8625, and receive a sulfuric acid soft coat (Type II) anodize (Class 1 for clear coating, Class 2 when colored dye is used). Contact PH Tool Technical Sales to discuss further coating options, such as industrial-grade Type III Hardcoat anodize for long-term immersion applications.
