Met-L-Chek VP-30 | Water Washable Visible Red Penetrant
High-Sensitivity Surface Flaw Detection for Methods A & C
Met-L-Chek VP-30 is a versatile, deep-red visible penetrant designed for the detection of surface-breaking discontinuities such as cracks, laps, porosity, and laminations. As a Level 2 (Normal Sensitivity) penetrant, it offers a perfect balance between flaw entrapment and ease of removal. Its dual-method formulation allows for high-volume processing via water-wash (Method A) or precision field inspection using the solvent-wipe technique (Method C).
Key Performance Features
Vibrant High-Contrast Indication: Formulated with intense red dyes that produce sharp, easy-to-read indications against a white developer background, increasing the probability of detection (POD).
Dual-Method Versatility: * Method A (Water Washable): Features built-in emulsifiers that allow excess surface penetrant to be rinsed away with a coarse water spray, making it ideal for large parts or rough surfaces.
Method C (Solvent Removable): Can be wiped away using a solvent-moistened cloth (such as R-504) for localized inspections or when water is not available.
Superior Washability: Designed to rinse clean from the part surface without over-washing the flaws, reducing the occurrence of "background pink" and false indications.
Material Compatibility: Safe for use on most common industrial metals, including aluminum, magnesium, steel, and stainless steel.
Convenient Aerosol Delivery: The consistent pressure of the aerosol spray ensures a uniform, thin film application, preventing "puddling" and reducing material waste.
