Magnafield Permanent Magnetic Yoke | Wire-Link Type
Spark-Free, High-Power Inspection for Complex Geometries
The Magnafield Wire-Type Permanent Magnetic Yoke is a heavy-duty NDT instrument designed for the detection of surface-breaking cracks in ferromagnetic materials. Unlike traditional rigid-body yokes, the "Wire Type" utilizes two high-intensity permanent magnet pods connected by a heavy-duty, flexible braided steel cable.
This unique "cable-link" design allows the inspector to conform the poles to virtually any shape—including T-joints, pipe flaring, and tight structural nodes—where standard articulating yokes are physically unable to make contact.
Key Performance Features
Intrinsically Safe (No Power Required): Operates entirely without electricity, making it the primary choice for "Hot Work" zones, refineries, and explosive atmospheres (ATEX zones) where electrical sparks are a critical hazard.
Infinite Flexibility: The multi-strand steel cable allows for independent positioning of the magnet poles, ensuring 100% contact on irregular castings and non-parallel surfaces.
Industrial Strength Lifting Power: Utilizing high-energy rare-earth magnets, this unit is engineered to exceed the $18$ kg ($40$ lb) lift test requirement mandated by international standards.
Subsea Ready: The robust, corrosion-resistant construction and lack of electrical components make this unit ideal for underwater inspections (MPI) on ship hulls and offshore jackets.
Ergonomic Grip: The pods are designed for easy handling with gloved hands, featuring a textured surface to ensure a firm grip when applying or removing the magnets from the workpiece.

Ideal Applications
Remote Pipelines: Inspections in areas without access to portable generators or battery packs.
Underwater MPI: Diver-operated inspections for marine infrastructure and vessel hulls.
Rope Access: Lightweight and "cable-free" design is ideal for technicians working at height on bridges or wind turbines.
Confined Spaces: Safe for use inside fuel tanks and pressure vessels where electrical safety is paramount.
