Met-L-Chek — D-70 Nonaqueous Developer
Bulk Nonaqueous Wet Developer, 55 gal / 208 L Drum
SKU: 29015-0055
Overview
Met-L-Chek D-70 is a nonaqueous wet developer designed for professional liquid penetrant inspection. It is applied after excess penetrant has been removed and the inspection surface has been properly dried.
D-70 forms a thin, light-colored developer coating that helps draw penetrant retained inside surface-breaking discontinuities back to the surface. This bleed-out action improves indication visibility and provides a contrasting background for evaluation during visible dye penetrant inspection. It may also be used as part of compatible fluorescent penetrant systems when approved by the applicable procedure.
The 55-gallon / 208 L bulk drum configuration is intended for high-volume inspection departments, production penetrant lines, fabrication facilities, aerospace and manufacturing operations, and other environments where large quantities of developer are required.

Performance Features
Nonaqueous Wet Formulation
Provides a suspended developer that dries to form a thin coating over the inspection surface.
Strong Bleed-Out Action
Helps draw penetrant retained inside cracks, seams, laps, porosity, and other surface-connected discontinuities back to the surface.
Contrasting Developer Background
Creates a light-colored surface that improves the visibility of red indications in visible dye penetrant inspection.
Compatible with Approved Fluorescent Systems
Can be incorporated into compatible fluorescent penetrant procedures when specified by the inspection process.
55-Gallon Bulk Supply
Provides a large-volume solution for production facilities and inspection departments with high developer consumption.
Controlled Spray Application
Can be applied using suitable bulk spray equipment to produce a thin and uniform developer coating.

Application Guidelines
Complete the required penetrant dwell time
Remove excess penetrant according to the approved procedure
Ensure the inspection surface is properly dried
Mix or agitate D-70 thoroughly before use
Maintain suspension during dispensing when necessary
Transfer the developer using chemically compatible equipment
Apply a thin, uniform coating over the inspection area
Avoid excessive or uneven developer application
Allow the coating to dry
Observe the specified development time
Inspect under the required white-light or UV-A conditions
Perform post-inspection cleaning when required
Application Equipment
D-70 may be used with compatible:
Pressure pots
Spray guns
Bulk transfer pumps
Hand-operated sprayers
Automated developer spray systems
Ventilated inspection booths
Dedicated PT processing lines
Agitated supply tanks
