Met-L-Chek — E-59A Cleaner / Remover
Class 2 Non-Halogenated Penetrant Cleaner and Method C Remover, Case of 12 × 16 oz / 400 mL Aerosol CansSKU: 29064-0001
Overview
The Met-L-Chek E-59A is a non-halogenated aerosol cleaner and penetrant remover designed for professional liquid penetrant inspection. It can be used for pre-inspection surface cleaning and for removing excess surface penetrant during Method C solvent-removable inspection procedures.
Its moderate evaporation rate provides sufficient working time for effective cleaning while allowing the inspection surface to dry efficiently before penetrant or developer application. The clear, nonfluorescent formulation helps prevent unwanted fluorescent background during inspection.
E-59A is low in sulfur, chlorine, fluorine, and other halogens, making it suitable for sensitive materials such as titanium and high-nickel alloys when approved by the applicable procedure. Supplied as a case of 12 aerosol cans, each containing 16 oz / 400 mL, SKU 29064-0001 supports field, shop, aerospace, nuclear, welding, maintenance, and industrial QA/QC applications.

Intended for use according to applicable procedures and safety documentation
Pressurized aerosol cans must be stored and handled according to workplace requirements
Application Guidelines
For Pre-Inspection Cleaning
Remove heavy dirt, scale, paint, and loose contamination mechanically when required
Apply E-59A to the inspection surface or a clean, lint-free cloth
Wipe the surface until oil, grease, and other removable contamination are eliminated
Allow the component to dry completely before applying penetrant
For Excess Penetrant Removal
Complete the required penetrant dwell time
Remove the initial excess penetrant with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth
Apply E-59A to a separate clean cloth
Wipe the surface gently until the excess background penetrant is removed
Avoid spraying remover directly onto the inspection surface during Method C removal
Do not overclean, as excessive remover may flush penetrant from discontinuities
Allow the surface to dry before applying developer
