Met-L-Chek — D-70 Aerosol Developer

Overview

The Met-L-Chek D-70 is a nonaqueous wet developer designed for fluorescent and visible liquid penetrant inspection. Applied after excess penetrant has been removed and the inspection surface has dried, it forms a smooth white coating that helps draw penetrant from surface-breaking discontinuities and improves indication visibility.

The aerosol format supports convenient, controlled application without requiring separate spray equipment. When properly applied, the developer produces a thin and uniform background that enhances contrast during visible dye inspection and supports indication development during fluorescent penetrant testing.

Application Guidelines

• Shake the aerosol can thoroughly before and during use

• Remove excess surface penetrant according to the selected inspection method

• Allow the inspection surface to dry before developer application

• Hold the aerosol can at an appropriate distance from the component

• Apply a thin, uniform developer coating

• Avoid excessive application that could mask fine indications

• Allow the specified development time before evaluation

• Inspect under the required visible-light or UV-A conditions
