The Sir-Chem® Dry Powder 61 (Grey) is a highly refined, nonfluorescent grey magnetic powder manufactured by Circle Systems. It is specifically designed for dry method magnetic particle inspection (MPI) and is supplied in a 25 Kg (kilogram) pail.
This powder is intended for use under visible light to reveal minute discontinuities on fabricated components or weldments such as bridges, pipes, large tanks, machinery, and equipment. The grey color provides good contrast on polished surfaces and ensures good particle buildup for clear indications.
Key Features:
Nonfluorescent Grey Powder: Provides visible indications under normal lighting conditions.
Optimized Particle Size: Engineered for reliable dry method MPI with minimal dust.
High Sensitivity: Capable of revealing fine discontinuities.
Versatile Application: Suitable for a wide range of components and structures.
Meets Industry Standards: Complies with or exceeds relevant specifications including ASTM E-1444, ASTM E-3024, AMS 3040, MIL-STD-271, and NAVSEA 250-1500-1. Certification is included with each shipment.
Wide Temperature Range: Effective up to 800°F (427°C).
Convenient Packaging: Supplied in a 25 Kg pail for larger volume users.
Benefits:
Enhanced Flaw Detection: The grey color provides good contrast on various surfaces.
Increased Inspection Efficiency: No need for UV-A lights simplifies the inspection process.
Reliable Performance: Consistent particle size and magnetic properties ensure dependable results.
Cost-Effective for High Usage: The 25 Kg pail offers an economical solution for frequent MPI applications.
Ensures Quality and Safety: Helps identify critical flaws to maintain the integrity of inspected components.
Applications:
Dry method magnetic particle inspection of welds and fabricated components.
Inspection of bridges, pipelines, storage tanks, and other large structures.
Quality control during manufacturing and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
Suitable for field and shop inspections where visible light inspection is preferred.
