Met-L-Chek FP-93A(M) | Level 2 Fluorescent Post-Emulsifiable Penetrant
The Industry Standard for Reliable, Medium-Sensitivity FPI
Met-L-Chek FP-93A(M) is a versatile, Level 2 sensitivity fluorescent penetrant engineered for critical Non-Destructive Testing (NDT). As a Post-Emulsifiable (PE) penetrant, it is specifically designed to be highly resistant to over-washing, making it the preferred choice for detecting shallow or broad discontinuities that water-washable penetrants might miss.
When viewed under UV-A light, FP-93A(M) delivers a high-intensity yellow-green glow with exceptional "edge definition," allowing inspectors to quickly and accurately identify fatigue cracks, porosity, and laps.
Key Performance Features
Optimized Sensitivity (Level 2): Provides excellent detection capabilities for most aerospace and power generation requirements without the excessive background noise associated with higher levels.
Flexible Removal Methods: Fully qualified for a variety of processing lines:
Method B: Lipophilic Emulsifier (Oil-based)
Method C: Solvent Wipe (For localized inspections)
Method D: Hydrophilic Emulsifier (Water-based / Pre-rinse)
High Thermal Stability: Formulated with dyes that resist heat-fading, ensuring that the fluorescence remains brilliant even during longer "dwell" or drying cycles.
Broad Material Compatibility: Safe for use on safety-critical alloys including Titanium, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, and High-Nickel superalloys.
Low Volatility: The high flash point and low evaporation rate make it safer and more economical for use in open dip-tank systems.
