Dakota Ultrasonics 5.0 MHz Dual Element Transducer (1/4", Microdot Side Connector) - Precision Coating & Substrate Thickness Measurement
The Dakota Ultrasonics 5.0 MHz Dual Element Transducer is a specialized probe designed for accurate measurement of both coating thickness and underlying substrate thickness without the need for coating removal. Featuring a compact 1/4" diameter for optimal contact on various surfaces and a convenient Microdot side connector, this transducer is ideal for use with ultrasonic thickness gauges equipped with coating measurement capabilities.
The dual element design allows for precise "Echo-Echo" through-coating measurements of the substrate, as well as "Pulse-Echo" measurement of the total thickness or dedicated "Coating Only" measurements (depending on the gauge functionality). The 5.0 MHz frequency provides an excellent balance of penetration and resolution for a wide range of coating and substrate materials. Trust Dakota Ultrasonics for reliable and accurate thickness measurements in even challenging coated applications.
Key Benefits:
Precise Coating Thickness Measurement: Specifically designed for accurate measurement of coatings.
Through-Coat Capability: Enables measurement of the substrate without removing the coating (Echo-Echo mode).
Versatile Applications: Suitable for measuring both coating and substrate thicknesses.
Compact 1/4" Diameter: Provides good contact on various surfaces.
Reliable Connection: Microdot side connector ensures secure signal transmission.
Quality Dakota Ultrasonics Product: Backed by a trusted manufacturer.
Applications:
Measuring the thickness of paint, polymers, and other coatings on metallic and non-metallic substrates.
Determining the remaining wall thickness of coated pipes, vessels, and structures without removing the coating.
Quality control in coating processes.
Corrosion surveys under coatings.
