Overview
The DeFelsko PosiTest LPD Basic Kit is a portable low-voltage pinhole detector designed to locate holidays, pinholes, cracks, thin spots, and other discontinuities in nonconductive coatings applied over conductive metal or concrete substrates.
The instrument uses a moistened rectangular sponge electrode that is passed across the coated surface. When the sponge encounters a discontinuity extending to the substrate, the electrical circuit is completed and the instrument activates audible and visible alarms.
Designed for coating systems up to 500 µm / 20 mils thick, the PosiTest LPD offers four regulated voltage configurations, automatic self-testing, GroundSense grounding verification, and rugged IP65-rated construction. The Basic Kit includes the equipment required to begin testing with a rectangular sponge assembly and stores the instrument and accessories in a protective hard-shell case.
