LED Viewer Version — Why It Matters

LED light sources produce significantly higher luminance levels than conventional fluorescent or halogen illuminators — often exceeding 100,000 cd/m² — and operate at a distinctly higher frequency. Standard densitometers calibrated for fluorescent viewers will produce out-of-tolerance readings when used on high-brightness LED viewers, compromising the reliability and code compliance of film density measurements.

How It Works

Using the Digit-X is as simple as it is fast:

1. Place the radiographic film or QA film strip on the illuminated surface of the LED film viewer
2. Press the fiber-optic tip of the Digit-X evenly against the region of the film to be measured
3. Press the zero button to establish a baseline reading
4. Push the instrument gently forward — the film density is immediately displayed on the LCD to 2 decimal places
5. Use the freeze-hold facility to lock the reading for recording or documentation
6. Press the zero button to reset the display before the next measurement
