The MET-L-CHEK WCP-81 White Contrast Coating is a specially formulated, fast-drying white paint designed to enhance flaw visibility during visible magnetic particle inspection (MPI). This product is available in a convenient case of 12 aerosol cans, each containing 16 fluid ounces (400 ml).
When applied to the test surface, WCP-81 creates a uniform white background that dramatically increases the contrast of black magnetic particle indications (such as those produced by MET-L-CHEK MPI-80P and MPI-80). This enhanced contrast allows inspectors to more easily identify fine surface and near-surface flaws in ferromagnetic materials.
Once dry, the WCP-81 coating is resistant to the wet method baths commonly used in MPI, ensuring the contrast remains effective throughout the inspection process. Despite its durability during inspection, this contrast paint is easily removed from the demagnetized component surface with a suitable solvent cleaner, such as MET-L-CHEK R-504, simplifying the post-inspection cleanup.
