Echo Ultrasonics — VersaSonic® Multipurpose Couplant
High- and Low-Temperature Ultrasonic Gel Couplant, 2 fl oz / 59 mL TubeSKU: VS-02-2
Overview
The Echo Ultrasonics VersaSonic® Multipurpose Couplant is a broad-temperature ultrasonic gel designed for inspections ranging from approximately -10 °F to 750 °F / -23 °C to 398 °C. Its extended temperature capability makes it suitable for ultrasonic testing where conventional room-temperature couplants may dry out, lose consistency, or fail to maintain reliable acoustic transmission.
VersaSonic is available in two gel viscosities to accommodate different inspection surfaces, temperatures, component orientations, and application requirements. The gel formulation helps maintain an acoustic connection between the transducer and test surface during ultrasonic thickness measurement and flaw-detection procedures.
Supplied in a compact 2 fl oz / 59 mL tube, SKU VS-02-2 is convenient for field inspection kits, localized measurements, elevated-temperature applications, maintenance work, and situations where controlled couplant application is required.

Performance Features
Broad Temperature Capability
Supports ultrasonic inspections at temperatures ranging from below freezing to elevated industrial process conditions.
Multipurpose Gel Formulation
Suitable for a variety of ultrasonic thickness-gauging and flaw-detection applications.
Two Available Viscosities
Allows inspectors to select an appropriate gel consistency for horizontal, vertical, overhead, rough, curved, or elevated-temperature surfaces.
Acoustic Transmission Support
Helps remove air from the interface between the transducer and test surface, supporting reliable ultrasonic energy transfer.
Controlled Tube Application
The compact tube allows technicians to apply couplant directly to the transducer, wedge, or inspection surface with reduced waste.
Portable Inspection Size
The 2 fl oz container is convenient for field technicians, maintenance personnel, and localized inspection assignments.
User-Friendly Design
Compact tube fits easily into portable NDT kits
Direct application supports controlled couplant placement
Gel consistency helps reduce unwanted running or dripping

Compatibility
Compatible with:
Ultrasonic thickness gauges
Ultrasonic flaw detectors
High-temperature ultrasonic transducers
Straight-beam transducers
Angle-beam transducers and wedges
Dual-element corrosion probes
Delay-line transducers
Manual ultrasonic scanning procedures
Suitable metallic and nonmetallic inspection surfaces
Field and laboratory ultrasonic testing programs
The selected transducer, cable, wedge, and delay line must be rated for the actual inspection temperature. Couplant temperature capability does not increase the operating-temperature rating of the connected ultrasonic equipment.
