The DeFelsko PosiTest HHD is a high voltage holiday detector that uses pulsed DC to detect holidays, porosity, pinholes, leaks and other discontinuities in coatings, linings and membranes on metal and concrete. Its user-adjustable output from 0.5 to 35 kV covers coatings up to 20 mm (780 mils) thick, based on NACE SP0274-2011 recommendations.
The regulated output won't change under load, and a built-in certified voltmeter displays and regulates the voltage at the electrode to ±5%. This complete kit adds a Pelican Storm extreme-duty case, a 72 Wh Li-ion battery, a 50 cm (20") electrode rod and a shoulder strap. It conforms to ASTM, ISO, NACE and AS standards.

Built-in certified voltmeter
An integrated crest meter (jeep meter) displays and regulates the voltage at the electrode, and a Long Form Certificate of Calibration traceable to NIST is included.
Safe by design
A press-and-hold safety trigger helps prevent accidental high voltage generation. The detector is shock proof and creep proof, internally sealed to minimize creep distance to high voltage components, and designed in accordance with IEC 61010-1.
Easy to use
A bright color LCD, an adjustable audio alarm mode and a lightweight, ergonomic design reduce operator fatigue during long inspections.
Rugged and long-running
The environmentally sealed ABS enclosure is weatherproof, dustproof and shockproof. The kit's removable 72 Wh smart Li-ion battery is the largest in the PosiTest HHD range, and everything travels in a Pelican Storm extreme-duty waterproof case with custom foam.

Complete your holiday testing setup
Add rolling spring electrodes for pipe, flat wire brushes for tanks and plate, the handheld wand, and a spare 72 Wh battery. Some standards call for a standalone voltmeter, so add the PosiTest HHD Verifier. A PosiTector 6000 coating thickness gage measures the coating thickness you need for the voltage calculator.
