Performance Features
Complete Visible PT Chemistry Kit
Includes penetrant, developer, and cleaner/remover in one packaged system.
Three Full Product Sets
The 3-3-3 configuration provides multiple cans of each required chemical for repeated inspection work.
Visible Dye Inspection
VP-30 or VP-31A produces visible indications that can be evaluated under suitable white-light conditions.
Nonaqueous Developer
D-70 provides a contrasting developer coating and assists penetrant bleed-out from surface-breaking discontinuities.
Cleaner / Remover Included
E-59A supports both initial surface preparation and controlled removal of excess penetrant.
Portable Cardboard Packaging
The complete nine-can set is packaged together for convenient storage, transport, and field deployment.

Inspection Procedure
1. Surface Preparation
- Remove paint, scale, rust, and heavy contamination when required
- Apply E-59A to the surface or to a clean, lint-free cloth
- Wipe away oil, grease, dirt, and removable residue
- Repeat cleaning where necessary
- Allow the surface to dry completely
2. Penetrant Application
- Shake the VP-30 or VP-31A aerosol can as required
- Apply a uniform coating over the inspection area
- Ensure the surface remains adequately covered
- Allow the specified penetrant dwell time
3. Excess Penetrant Removal
For solvent-removable procedures:
- Remove initial excess penetrant with a clean, dry, lint-free cloth
- Apply a small amount of E-59A to a separate clean cloth
- Gently wipe until excessive surface background is removed
- Avoid overcleaning
- Do not flush penetrant from discontinuities
- Allow the component to dry before developer application
For water-washable procedures, where applicable to the selected penetrant:
- Use controlled water washing according to the written procedure
- Avoid excessive pressure or overwashing
- Dry the component as required before development
4. Developer Application
- Shake D-70 thoroughly before use
- Apply a thin, uniform developer coating
- Avoid heavy or uneven application
- Allow the developer to dry
- Observe the required development time
5. Inspection and Evaluation
- Inspect under the required white-light intensity
- Evaluate visible indications against the developer background
- Mark relevant indications when required
- Document results
- Apply the acceptance criteria specified by the governing procedure or code
- Perform post-inspection cleaning when required
