Echo Ultrasonics — UltraSoniX US1-MV Broad-Temperature Couplant
Medium-Viscosity Ultrasonic Couplant with Corrosion Inhibition, 1 gal / 3.8 L, Refillable Bottle and Dispensing CapSKU: US1-MV
Overview
The Echo Ultrasonics UltraSoniX US1-MV is a high-performance, medium-viscosity ultrasonic couplant designed for flaw detection and thickness-gauging applications across a broad operating-temperature range. It creates a consistent acoustic interface between the transducer and inspection surface, helping ultrasonic energy enter the test material efficiently.
Its flowable gel consistency supports convenient spreading while remaining suitable for vertical and overhead inspection surfaces. The slow-drying formulation provides extended scanning time, while reduced surface tension promotes fast wetting and reliable contact across suitable metals, plastics, composites, and other industrial materials.
UltraSoniX provides excellent corrosion inhibition and contains no glycerin, formaldehyde, nitrates, nitrites, or glycol ethers. Supplied in a 1 gal / 3.8 L container with one refillable application bottle and dispensing cap, SKU US1-MV provides a practical bulk couplant solution for field, fabrication, maintenance, manufacturing, and QA/QC inspection programs.

Performance Features
Broad Operating-Temperature Range
Supports ultrasonic flaw detection and thickness measurement from approximately 10 °F to 220 °F / -12 °C to 104 °C.
Medium-Viscosity Flowable Gel
Spreads easily across the inspection surface while providing sufficient body for vertical and overhead applications.
Excellent Corrosion Inhibition
Helps protect ferrous metals and other compatible materials during ultrasonic inspection and temporary couplant contact.
Slow-Drying Formulation
Extends available scanning time and reduces the need for frequent couplant reapplication.
Fast Surface Wetting
Reduced surface tension helps the couplant spread beneath the transducer or wedge and minimizes trapped air.
Glycerin-Free Composition
Does not contain glycerin, helping support inspections where glycerin could affect aluminum surfaces or interfere with subsequent penetrant testing.
Water-Soluble Cleanup
Can be removed using wet or dry wiping or an appropriate water-washing process.
