The Cygnus 3 Data Logger is a multiple-echo ultrasonic thickness gauge built for a simple yet versatile way to log metal thickness measurements through protective coatings. Three data logging modes make it easy to record remaining wall thickness across tanks, cylinders, pipes and plant.
Every reading is error checked using three return echoes for repeatable, reliable results, and the multiple-echo technique is accepted by all major classification societies. Housed in a rugged IP65 aluminum enclosure, the gauge comes as a complete kit with a 2.25 MHz probe, test block, software and travel case.

Built for the Field
Three data logging modes
Choose simple linear logging (up to 5,000 points per record), XY grid logging (up to 100 rows × 50 columns), or template logging with defined measurement points, minimum and reference thickness values and up to 40 user fields. You can also add radial measurements around any chosen point.
Auto-Log for one-handed work
Auto-Log records stable thickness readings automatically, with no key to press. A super-bright multi-color LED confirms each logged reading, and out-of-tolerance alarms flag thin areas.
Secure storage and easy reporting
Data is stored on an internal SD memory card for security and transfers over USB with no driver installation. Data Logger Manager software generates reports, and the Excel add-in imports data straight into worksheets or templates.
Smart, simple operation
The gauge senses the probe type and adjusts its settings automatically. A secure twist-to-lock BNC connection, phone-style alphanumeric keys, an echo strength indicator and a customizable velocity table keep work quick and simple.
Rugged and long-lasting
An IP65 aluminum enclosure with a protective silicone sleeve withstands water, dirt, dust and shocks. Three AA batteries give 18 hours of continuous use, and the gauge can be worn on a waist belt for climbing.
